Change

“A free society cherishes nonconformity. It knows that from the non-conformist, from the eccentric, have come many of the great ideas of freedom. Free society must fertilize the soil in which non-conformity and dissent and individualism can grow.”  -Henry Steele Commager

As the occupy protests gain notoriety, as a wave of sentiment for or against spreads across the country, the foundation of a nation is shaken to its core. Jefferson spoke of a revolution for every generation, of change for every era… is this our time? Is this our moment?

If these protests remain nothing but protests, the sliver of a chance we have will be lost to those of the next epoch. Action must be taken, it is time to walk the talk. We must come together not as liberals, not as conservatives.. not as Republicans, not as Democrats.. no we must come together as American citizens united in one goal, the preservation of the greatest nation on the face of this earth, the United States of America.

The fight may not be one of arms or blood loss, however it must be one of lives willing to give everything for a very tangible something, the preservation of Freedom, Justice, and an unbroken American Brotherhood. There is a break in our nation as we speak, a crack in our foundation and as each day goes by the chasm creaks yearning to become an irrevocable abyss tearing a nation forever apart. We cannot allow this left and right separated mindset prevail, for a house divided cannot stand.

How you ask? Utilizing our one weapon we have had since the birth of America, our vote. We must not be ignorant to forget the power of a voting mass in one united goal, the goal of a better country. As a whole we have not been faithful to our country by not completing our civil duties, we have not voted to oust corruption and preserve our societies. No, rather the very few have voted and the few that have voted have done so only to preserve party affiliations, to preserve conservative or liberal agendas, not the agenda of America.

Obama spoke of change, however he foolishly believed it was possible through the voting in of one man into one position, that of President, was enough. Change my friends is possible, but only with the voting out of many incumbents who have maintained their positions for decades and within a 30 year time span have increased national debt from $4 trillion to $14 trillion!

Change is possible, but the question is are you willing to change yourself?

This is Pure Lunacy.
