What is PureLunacy?

The goal is simple: Question. Challenge. Rise.

Question: We must question our society, our government, our lives and examine the reality before us. We must analyze our problems, our societal structures, and our very personal views.

Challenge: We must challenge the viability of our social construct, new and old. We must challenge the concepts that are so quickly becoming the norm and challenge the concepts that are already the every day standard.

Rise: We must rise up to the plate and become a catalyst of change. We must rise at whatever capacity we have, locally and nationally.

PureLunacy is the brainchild of a once outraged undergraduate student, now an outraged doctorate student. However, the type of outrage has shifted and changed.

As an undergraduate student it was hard for me to conceive why society had the problems it had and why we as members of said society couldn’t make a change for the better. At its inception, the outrage of PureLunacy revolved around the statusquo and the perceived lack of action.

As time went on and life continued, I have been given multiple opportunities to participate in action towards change. As a doctorate student, I now look at societal hardship in a different manner and with this concept evolution has come an outrage evolution.

Today the outrage of PureLunacy revolves around the lack of recognition in current change and the lack of societal involvement in this recognition.

You see the interactions of everyday life are more than just concentrated actions of one given point. We are all social actors in the construction of power and social values. Our society is changing at a rapid pace never seen before. Although we have become accustomed to criticizing the problems, we fail to recognize and analyze the changes that have been made. Therefore, it is time to resurrect an ever-changing notion.

This is PureLunacy.
