Born to immigrant parents from Brazil, social challenges have been the norm of life since inception. Challenges have affected train of thought and mindset daily.

Growing up in an immigrant household, my culture was Brazilian and first language Portuguese. Yet every opportunity my father and mother had, they’d solemnly emphasize that America was MY country.

Although Brazil is my heritage, America is my future.

Any time the President would appear on the television, my father would point and say, “You see that man Priscylla, that man is YOUR president of YOUR country.”

To this day my heart has a special place for George Bush Sr., “my president” [being a kid, it took me a little while to realize that presidents changed and were voted in every 4 years!].

Thus, for those who inquire:
I am American. I am PriB. I am a Lunatic.
